Hello and welcome to 16 Storm. This site is full of info
on the PcW 16, the latest word-processor and computer in
Amstrad's popular range. Here you'll find reviews and tutorials,
along with updates on the latest '16 news and links to other
related sites around the Web.

Cripes - two updates in just over a month! A couple of things to report: John
King has written an excellent guide to working with DOS and CP/M documents on
the '16 at www.pcwking.freeserve.co.uk/pcw16B.html.
Take a look if you need to import files from other systems. Also, Trevor Gowen's
site, which contains various bits of technical info about the '16 and similar
machines, has now moved to www.cpmspectre.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk.

Blimey! Many moons have passed since the last update, but there's probably more action
in Kazakh Fishkeeping Quotas than the '16 scene at the moment. Still, eh? Only piece of
news to report is the closure of Dave's Disk Doctor service. Link has been removed. Yes.
So, what of this site? Well, I still receive the odd email from '16 users and there's no
doubt that the machine is still in use by some, so I'll always keep these pages up as a
resource. Any emails on the subject are welcome! Unless they're in HTML. Evil.

There's still very little activity in the '16 world at the moment, but we have one
new link. Check out John King's excellent guide to using the PcW 16 Rescue Disk
over at www.pcwking.freeserve.co.uk/pcw16.html.
And Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to everyone in the '16 community!

There's been very little '16-related action over the last few months, unfortunately,
but we have a few snippets: PD Blake's new PCW compilation CD, with loads of programs
for CP/M, has been released. See the news page for more
info. Also, a new version of the OS Rescue Disk has apparently been released, which
puts it at v1.13. I'm still in the process of finding out more information, so
please drop me a line if you've got any
details. Thanks.

Coder PD Blake now plans to put his PCW collection onto CD-ROM - take a
look at our News section for more
info. Lee Jackson's PcW16ers site has been redesigned, with a brand new look.
You can reach it at www.pcw16ers.fsnet.co.uk.
16 Storm has won the PCW Today magazine Joyce award for Best Internet Site.
Thanks to those who voted for us!
IMPORTANT
- Make sure your Rosanne operating system is up to version
1.12 (look at 'Set System Options...' under the 'Setup' menu on the
Desktop to find out which version you have). If your Rosanne is
older, get the latest Rescue Disk from Cliff Lawson's site (see
links). Older versions of Rosanne are
less reliable, so it's best to upgrade.
ALSO IMPORTANT!
- If you haven't done so already, read
the 'Questions and Answers' file on the Rescue Disk (in 'FOLDER01'), as
it contains lots of shortcuts and other tips that missed the manual.
