Welcome to the TE Project site

  • Hello and welcome to the central site for editing the tracks on Microprose F1GP (aka WC) for the PC. Here you can find the latest news, downloads and screenshots from the project. Note that no full track editor exists at the moment, but we're making solid progress on this front, so watch this space! Also, check out the Docs page for a newcomer's guide and FAQ.

At last, the new site is up and running. While much info from the older pages is still here, we've worked on a new design with all sorts of extra goodies. Highlights include a new mailing list, dedicated sections for downloads and screenshots, a new FAQ, and more. I've also put up a Beginner's Guide for those wanting to get started in the project. Of course, there's still work to be done, and any comments on the new site are welcome - drop me a line at mike@aster.fsnet.co.uk.

If you look down the page at the section for file byte listings, I've added some superb recent work by Barrie Millar and Larry Watson. This is a far more comprehensive listing than the old page, and should help us to work out the structure of the CC line section. (This file is available from Mike in various other formats if you require it.)

HOT NEWS! In the past week or so, there has been some excellent progress made on the project. Barrie Millar and Larry Watson have spent some time working with the CC line data for Monza, and are beginning to get some solid information on this part of the file. We have some more info to come here, and any more developments will appear on this site first.

Mailing list and forum

  • Courtesy of eGroups, a mailing list for developers and those interested in following the project has been set up. This system lets everyone involved with F1GP track editing to keep in touch by email, and to sign up pop over to http://www.egroups.com/group/f1gpte/.

  • If you want to discuss anything related to the project on the Web, go to the Grandprix1.com track editing forum where you can suggest ideas and talk to other developers.
